Beyond celebration…CHRISTMAS MEANS KINDNESS (OF GOD) COMPASSION (OF DEVOTEES) AND CONTEMPLATION (FOR US). (CHRISTMAS SPECIAL)

       As the time has come. Full of festivities, colors, joy, amusement. Houses decorated with lights n flowers. The santa is greeting everyone. To join in the auspiciousness of the appearance of a beloved son of God, Jesus Christ. Amidst of all these merriments, There is a reminder of the message of messenger once again. The coming of a messenger signifies two very important concept.

      First and foremost, the lovingness and kindness, of God, His compassionate nature. Because he is not willing to see us suffering, time n again, he comes himself or send his representatives, to uplift us, pave a path towards him.

      On the other side, the confidential devotees, who comes as messengers, its overwhelming to see their surrender in that supreme, their faith, their loyalty, their devotion. Even they are ready to risk their lives, for the sake of us, and even to the extent, begging for forgiveness for the miscreants. Such is the magnanimity of God n his devotees. Its true in every religion.

      But what is of great significance is the message that is delivered. We can truly love God, if we can abide by his instructions, which is meant for our deliverance. The purpose of the message is to reduce our sins, and thereby alleviate our suffering, and going back to our original home, where there is only bliss n eternity.

     As Christmas has come back again, its time contemplate upon the timeless message, act on them, make them a part of our life. And open heartedly distribute the glory of God and his representatives. Celebrate the occasion of their appearance. To chant the all purifying name of God, again and again. And be happy.

NOTHING PLEASES KRISHNA MORE THAN LOVING,TAKING CARE, OF MOTHER COW, MAKING THEM HAPPY TILL THEY NATURALLY LEAVE THERE BODIES.

    One day Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu met Haridasa Thakura as usual, and in the course of discussion He inquired as follows.’My dear Thakura Haridasa, in this age of Kali most people are bereft of Vedic culture, and therefore they are called mlechhas. They are concerned only with killing cows and brahminical culture. In this way they all engage in sinful acts. How will these mlechhas be delivered? To My great unhappiness, I do not see any way.

No alternative to krishna, whatsoever... (Bhagvad Gita 9.30)

            

             

In this world, even if you have done millions of Good things, if you have done one bad thing, you are spotted, criticized and your life is finished..

            However, for Krishna, if we have done millions of bad things and only one Good thing, Krishna notices that, give you credit like you have done millions of Good thing and one bad thing.. that is the difference..

            Its  so relieving, by seeing the kindness of Krishna, he is really karuna sindhu.. otherwise, if Krishna starts seeing the bad things, we will have no hope but that is What separates Krishna, and so truly he is God, undoubtedly and  only refuge for shelter.

Demon Ravana being completely overpowered, vanquished, shadowed and killed by Lord Ramachandra. A large effigy of Ravana is ceremoniously burned with huge pump and ceremony all over India, celebrating the victory of goodness over evil, love over lust.

Padmanabha (Asvina) month, 10th day of waxing moon, Vijayotsava.

In the pastimes of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu he absorbed Himself in the transcendental lila of Lord Ramacandra in the following manner as recorded by Srila Krishna dasa Kaviraj Goswami.

Madhya 15.32
vijaya-dasami——lanka-vijayera dine
vanara-sainya kaila prabhu lana bhakta-gane

TRANSLATION
On the victory day celebrating the conquest of Lanka–a day known as Vijaya-dasami–Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu dressed up all His devotees like monkey soldiers.

Madhya 15.33
hanuman-avese prabhu vriksha-sakha lana
lanka-gade cadi’ phele gada bhangiya

TRANSLATION
Displaying the emotions of Hanuman, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu took up a large tree branch, and, mounting the walls of the Lanka fort, began to dismantle it.

Madhya 15.34
‘kahanre ravna’ prabhu kahe krodhavese
jagan-mata hare papi, marimu savamse’

TRANSLATION
In the ecstasy of Hanuman, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu angrily said, “Where is the rascal Ravana? He has kidnapped the universal mother, Sita. Now I shall kill him and all his family.”

Madhya 15.35
gosanira avesa dekhi’ loke camatkara
sarva-loka jaya’ jaya’ bale bara bara

TRANSLATION
Everyone became very astonished to see the emotional ecstasy of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, and everyone began to chant, “All glories! All glories!” again and again.

What Lord Ram, did in tretaya yuga, Lord Chaitanya who is Krishna himself, is doing the same thing in kaliyuga. He is killing the Ravana within everyone of us, by giving us a simple process of chanting the holy name.

DON’T FORGET THE ENERGETIC (Shree Krishna) IN THE PURSUIT OF ENERGY(Maaa Durga).. (A KRISHNA CONSCIOUS PERSPECTIVE TO DURGA PUJA..)(BG 9.10)

         

A resplendent Tuesday evening. There is mysteriousness in the ambience at dusk which feels unequalled at no other time of the day. The countless star and silvery moon making there way with the disappearance of lazy evening sun which offers a glamorous golden sight in the western horizon. Holy mantras reverberating along with drums and cymbals, Yes, the time has come. Full of festivities, colours, joy, amusement. Pandals  decorated with lights n flowers.  Lively deities of Maa Durga everywhere.

       Especially when you are in Kolkata , you gotta feel the vibes.

         However lets understand who Durga is.. Maaa Durga is the symbol or epitome of “Shakti” or energy. Energy becomes evident when it is with its source. Energy gets its significance when its associated with the enrgetics. Lets consider fire, because fire is there, there are heat and light. Heat and light will not separate existence without fire..The scripture says,

                           ishvarah paramah krishnah
                           sac-cid-ananda-vigrahaha
                              anadir adir govindaha
                               sarva-karana-karanam

Krsna who is known as Govinda is the Supreme Godhead. He has an eternal blissful spiritual body. He is the origin of all. He has no other origin and He is the prime cause of all causes.

         Similarly, whatever we see within this universe, within material world and spiritual world, the spiritual world is expansion of Kṛṣṇa's internal energy, and this material world is Kṛṣṇa's expansion of external energy, and we living entities, we are expansion of marginal energy. So three energies. He has got multi-energies. All the multi-energies grouped in three headings: antaraṅga-śakti, bahiraṅga-śakti, taṭastha-śakti. Antaraṅga-śakti means internal energy, bahiraṅga śakti means external energy, and taṭastha-śakti means these living entities. We are śakti; we are energy. We are not the energetic. 

       Durga or Parvati, is the presiding deity of the bahiranga sakti or the external energy, whose manifestation is this material world. This material world is also called “Durg” or a jail, or elsewhere its called “maithunagara”, A jail where the shakles are sex life. And Durga is the controller of this durg, or jailor of the jail.. And her work is to reform us through punishment. The three sharp pointed end of the trident that she is holding, signifies the three kind of suffering, that she put on us, namely adidaivika klesa(miseries due to natural calamities)  adibhautika klesa(miseries due to other living entities) and adiatmika klesa(miseries due to our own body and mind). By giving these kind of sufferings, her service make the unfortunate living entity remember that, this is not the place, there is no happiness, one has to turn to her master, Lord Shree Krishna,.for real happiness..

       Maa Durga serving Krishna by taking care of this material world, she is a great devotee.. Maa Durga, becomes the happiest , when we worship her in this mood. We pray her not for anything else, but to become a faithful servant of Krishna like her.

         Unfortunately in kali yuga even very sacred things are perceived very superficially. Often times religious festivals of all religions are more of an opportunity for some sort of social entertainment than for genuinely cultivating Love of God – which is the purpose of every great religion and the purpose of every spiritual observance. lets not make these auspicious occasions a excuse to gratify our senses, rather use our senses to glorify and serve the Lord of our heart, Lord Shree Krishna,,. Lets not forget the energetic in the pursuit of energy.. THANK YOU...

WE ARE ALL BORN ACCUSED WITH A DEATH SENTENCE…. (based on Bhagavad Gita 10.34)

The above sentence may seem pessimistic , to most of us, ,…but if we analyze, it is a reality.. and if we go deeper in to this, there is infinite hope for us to strive for. 

According most of the revealed scripture of our contemporary world, it is almost certain that, we are not this body, which is temporary, and prone to exhaustion , but we are spiritual soul, which is eternal and everlasting.

Why we are accused?? Because we are eternal spiritual soul, we belong to the spiritual world,. Which is full of ever increasing happiness, devoid of any trace of sorrow. But because God loves us, he has also given us minute independence, there by we can choose, our own set of action.

Because Krsna is the creator of everything, he is the by default enjoyer of everything, our position is always a servant,.. serving him, . and that is the only way to be happy always.
But due to mis utilization of our independence, some souls became envious of the supreme personality of god head. And there by falling down from the spiritual world to this material world. And thus loosing our eternity.
This material world is akin to a jail or hospital, where we can choose to treat ourselves of our disease of materialism, or being punished for our misdeeds. And this material world is a kind of jail, where the punishment is capital, sooner or later, along with rigorous suffering throughout till we die.
As we see, if some prisoner have a good record inside the jail, they are forgiven of their misdeed to certain extent. Similarly if we follow the moral way of living, like avoiding meat eating, illicit sex, intoxication and gambling, we are actually excused of our misdeeds to some extent..thus although we are relieved of our miseries, still we have to be inside the jail..

Like when the prisoner plead to the president, the president can make him go actually out of the jail.. similarly if we take shelter of the supreme lord, he actually and certainly can liberate us of this bondage… And the absolutely 100 % full proof method for all ages especially kaliyuga, to become submissive and surrendered, and become free from ego, is to chant sincerely,

FOR PROPER ACTION ,WE HAVE TO STOP THE CHAIN REACTION.. (BHAGAVAD GITA AS IT IS CHAPTER 2 , VERSE 62-63)

       The inherent nature of a chain reaction, is one product leads to the formation of another product. This principle is being applied in industries for mass production.. What
if, the product is a poison, then the whole propaganda becomes a liability..
       Interestingly, such a system of chain reaction is working, inside our body and mind..
Krsna tells in 2nd chapter of bhagavad gita, how a living entity fall helplessly to the whirlpool of material existence.
       It starts with innocent contemplation of sense object, which eventually leads to attachment for the object, from attachment , lust arises, and the lust either remain unfulfilled or even fulfilled up to certain extent, its never satiating, so it causes wrath or anger, which leads the living entity to a state of illusion, memory is bewildered, and subsequently intelligence is lost, and finally the conditioned soul succumb to sinful act and fall down in the graveyard of material existence..
       So, we see this is a self defeating and destructive chain reaction, which needed to be stopped, at the earliest possible step. As steps goes forward, it becomes increasingly difficult to control the outcome.
And the inciting factor is contemplation of sense object, and we have to stop that, or at least try to avoid that. Our surrounding atmosphere is so much surcharged with lust, as u walk outside, starting from bill boards, advertisement, movies, TV,songs , and even general public behavior, one automatically start contemplating, on sense object..
      And as a practicing spiritualist, we have to be very careful, because, this is where the chain reaction starts. It is the nature of mind to hover over sense object, and at least mentally try to derive some pleasure, but by constant practice , we can train our mind, to be on track , as it diverts away.
Certainly the paradoxical and apparent pleasure of material sense gratification, will lead to inevitable downfall, of the living entity, but there are ways to prevent them. By cultivating the principles of krsna consciousness, when we relish the higher taste of krsnas sweet love, then gradually we develope a distaste for material sense enjoyment.
     

Certainly we have to avoid any exposure to sense object n further contemplating on it, and this determination can be strengthened by, taking the holy name of krsna faithfully and sincerely.. Then we can easily sail over the turbulent waves of the sea of material existence.

BY CHOOSING NOT TO REMAIN BLIND, WE ENLIGHTEN OURSELVES... ( based on Bhagavad Gita chapter 1 verse 1).

         Yesterday I was contemplating on bhagvad gita verse no. 1.. it is the only verse spoken by Dhritarashtra, to highlight his doubt and fear.
         But, one amazing thing happened just before the war started. Vyasa dev, came to dhritarashtra, for the final time, and told him, the futility of the war, and how, still it is under his capacity, to stop the war. But, Dhritarashtra, as we all know, was so much attached to duryadhan, he couldn’t do anything.
Then Vyasadev offered him, his vision, so that he could see the war. But, Dhritarashtra politely rejected the offer.

          Is not it amazing, how many time it happened in history, that a person who is blind from birth, was offered vision, and he declines. Although Dhritarashtra’s point was valid, he told, he couldn’t see his son growing up, how he can see them die. But has he ever tried sort of anything, to not see , his sons dying!!!
         So, Dhritarashtra choose to remain blind. It may sound very fascinating, to all of us.. But, if we think, little deeply, this is the condition of most of us.. In our practice of spirituality, at a neophyte stage, we often get instructions, which we know clearly, that if we follow or apply in our lives, we will get immense spiritual benefit,, but most of the time we choose to remain blind. And like Dhritarashtra, the cause is the same, our attachment to enjoying mentality due to our previous conditioning, which is natural.
       But, the question is “are we ready to change”. We see in the first chapter Arjuna was also very much attached to his conception, and he was in an apparent miserable condition. But, the difference lies, Arjuna was ready to change, later he became submissive and surrendered.
        Dhritarashtra has to loose everything to realize anything, and Arjuna has to loose only the sense of ego “I know”, to become free from all miseries. These two opposite and contrasting examples from mahabharat, is a lesson for us.
And the absolutely 100 % full proof method for all ages especially kaliyuga, to become submissive and surrendered, and become free from ego, is to chant sincerely,

THERE IS NO HEALTHY LIMITS FOR UNHEALTHY BAD HABITS. (practical implication of bhagavad gita verse 3.41)

     

Most of us, who loves drinking alcohol , most of the time put forward the argument, that drinking moderate amount of alcohol, is actually good for health, as few of the study indicates. Lets discuss it..Regarding different studies, scientists have a split opinion about it. And the definition of occasional differs from persons to persons, place and occasion..
The big question lies whether social or occasional drinking actually stays occasional??? The fact remains little drinking doesn’t remain little. The general human tendency is that the things that give us pleasure , we tend to do them more n more. And it’s a proven fact that alcohol is addictive. If you go around the world asking the addictive alcoholics, they will confess, they didn’t start it, thinking they will become addictive, everybody thought they will just socially n occasionally do it..But its very easy, probable and natural to move from occasional drinking to addictive drinking. Especially this happens when people need relief from some stress, or distress, and think that alcohol helps them. So, it might be possible for some people, to drink a little and stay like that, but even in them, when they suffer emotional turbulences, turmoil, its quite likely, they will seek shelter of alcohol, which on long term can make them dysfunctional. Staying occasional is possible, but in most scenario not probable. Its like,we see a quick sand, where 1000s people were trapped already, and we are thinking let me put my foot in, then calfs, knees, and I will come out unhurt. Its mostly improbable, and of course not intelligent.
Talking about the health benefit we get, well , its debatable and its not exclusive to alcohol, at all. The same health benefit we can get by cultivating many healthy good habits, like jogging, swimming, working out and eating healthy foods. Why not get addicted by them. Many think, drinking provides a mean for social bonding, but it’s a cultural idiosyncracy , we have seen how under the influence of alcohol, people become frivolous, doing many nonsensical things, even if you drink a little of it, its actually a slippery slope, it takes very less to slide down and become a addict.
There are lots of vested interest in alcohol industry, they fund for lots of researches. Just like the smoking industry, for 20-30 years, they kept the fact about the harmful effect of smoking covered. Its only when the number of diseased people, the extent of the diseases that were coming up due to it, became undeniable, unconcealable, the data was allowed to come to open. Its quite possible for alcohol also, about the health benefit. But even we feel its true, then also, moderation don’t stay moderate, its extremely unlikely, that in the long run, one is very likely, to get overwhelmed by turmoils, and seek shelter of alcohol, and slide towards addiction. So, its better to not take the risk..

Aptly, though, sri Krishna, advising arjuna, in BG 3.41, to curb all these sense gratifying and self defeating bad haits from the beginning. Don’t let them spread there root inside you, and finish you even materially, and of course spiritually.. thank you/ Hare Krishna....

CAN WE SEE GOD??? IS SEEING BELIEVING?? LETS VISIT A CHEMISTRY LAB...

       This is a very important point for those who are persuing for spiritual life, and even it is important for our daily grasping of knowledge..

       Oftentimes people ask a very pertinent question “If you show me God, then I will believe”. These kind of question may intellectually seem very thoughtful, but are actually baseless..

       There is a saying “ what your mind doesn’t know your eyes cant see” or in other words our eyes can only see what our mind knows.
       For example, take the example of a chemistry lab which is full of chemicals of different colors n odors. If a small kid happened to visit inside the lab, he will perceive it as some fun fare, a school going student who doesn’t have any knowledge of chemicals, will take them as modes of celebration.. Even in the faculty of chemistry also, different people like bachelor, master, n phd candidates, will have different interpretation, according to there existing fund of knowledge. And a chemical scientist may have the full knowledge about the chemical.
       So, although the thing is same , but the perception is different. 

       Similerly, if we want to understand God, then we have to come to that level of understanding, by gradual progressive advancement in spiritual life. We rely so much on our sense of vision, that we reflexly reject things that do not fall into its range. But we must understand that, even if we see something, we will only understnd, according to our knowledge.. 

        So, THE FIRST REQUIREMENT OF SEEING GOD IS TO DEVELOPE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT GOD..
        And that can be done by reading scripture, hearing from people who have assimilated the scriptures, associating with people who have a faith in God. It is similar to the above example, if we want to know about the chemical, we have read books, hear the professors, and sit in the class with other chemistry students..

Don’t get carried away by flickering of enjoyment, you experience, in this world of birth and death..

Don’t get carried away by the name, fame and worship, you attain in this world, by scholarship, charity and even sacrifice?

Ohh mind, try to become dumb to jokes mocking others,

Become, deaf and blind to others faults.

Become, inactive like a stone in the matter of bringing others even the slightest pain,

For today, simply accept whatever  comes your way unsought,

look to see the good qualities in others but not their faults,

do not put yourself forward, but remain obscure and unbeknown,

and continually chant , remember, read and listen ,without any motive and distraction, the beautiful name , fame, quality and pastime of the supreme LordShreeKrishna..

NOTHING TO DO WITH KRISHNA, IF IT IS NOT FOR SRIMATI RADHARANI... (Radhasthami Wishes)

99.99% of people in this world, believe in the philosophy of eat, drink n b merry.. From the rest , the very fortunate ones strive for liberation. The more fortunate one, strives for devotional service to Lord hari. He who has spontaneous attraction for Lord Krsna’s lotus feet is more blessed . He who considers and worship Krishna as husband of Rukmini, is even more fortunate. More than that is , who is devoted to Krishna as Son of Yasoda-devi, is supremely favored. He who is devoted to Lord Krsna as the friend of Subala is even more fortunate. What to speak of those, who has developed love for Krishna,as the lover of Gopis, they resides at the pinnacle of devotional pyramid.

But, here is the secret, A devotee overwhelmed and drowned by the nectar of love for Srimati Radharani, the beautiful queen of Vrndavana, who is madanmohan mohini, who enchants even Krishna, who is the enchanter of cupid,  is the most most and most fortunate of all.

HAPPY RADHASTHAMI TO ALL … We gaudiya vaisnavas worship Krishna, because of Srimati Radharani.. I pray at the lotus feet of Srimati Radharani, to bestow, a drop of his mercy, to all living entitiy. Hare Krishna.. Jai Shree Radhe….

MOST IMPORTANT DAY FOR A DEVOTEE... PRABHUPADA APPEARANCE DAY..

If Srila Prabhupada had not come, what would have happened? How could we have passed our lives?

Contemplating on writing an offering to srila prabhupada, considering the inconspicuous position of myself, is definitely a tremendous job to undertake. Exactly, 50 years back, prabhupada , took off from kolkata, in a cargo ship, after prolong deliberation with the ship owner, finally somehow managed to sneak in, for what we conceive an impossible task to be performed. Lets discuss how was the situation for prabhupada then. Its not that prabhupada was a very famous monk in India, and that he has already gained global recognition, before embarking upon the uphilled task. No. In India, Prabhupada failed many time, or we may call them apparent failure. His family life was in most ways haywire, his pharmaceutical company caught fire, his early try to outreach public, in terms of, building league of devotees at jhansi, was not successful. Trying to print and sell “back to Godhead” magazine , was a setback. Nobody listened to him. Age was even not on his side, he was approaching seventy, with chronic comorbid conditions. In the background of this he decided to go to America, to fulfill the message of his spiritual master, to preach the message of lord chaitanya in English language. What a task!!! Coming to America, it was, as well, not a conducive environment for spiritual teachings. The counter culture movement was on. The youth, aka, hippies, were almost on daily basis breaking the four regulative principles. To teach them, the teachings of lord chaitanya, which is the summit of all the teachings, was no doubt, could have been imagined in dream. To add, prabhupada didn’t have any one to receive him there, he was a loner, materially speaking. His godbrothers refused to help, considering the fuitility of the mission. In simpler word, he was helpless in every way possible. From these background, prabhupada went on to circle the globe many times, establishing 108 temples, farm communities, publishing his own publications, initiating many many disciple, getting devotees get married, writing letters, creating projects, that too in a span of ten years. These are few of the prabhupadas miracle amongst many of them. When we see the whole picture, prabhupada’s contribution to mankind is unparalled, comparable or even more then what jesus or prophet did. The harekrishna movement is the savior of the whole world for time to come, and a thank you is never enough for such a person. His contribution is beyond acknowledgement, its not humanly possible to fathom his compassion towards suffering living entities.

Prabhupada , please accept, the little service at your lotus feet, as words that I put, to describe one atom of your magnaminity . Let me always behold your ever smiling face, which always has encouraged everyone to fight any obstacle, in the path of Krishna consciousness. Let my mind filled with your inspiring pastimes. Let my body put obessainces unto your lotus feet millions of times. Please allow me by your grace, to be one of the atoms,and reside, in your lotus feet for ever and ever and ever.

KRISHNA, NOT A HISTORICAL PERSON, NOT A MYTHOLOGICAL CHARACTER.. HE IS GOD, UNEQUIVOCALLY, UNDOUBTEDLY ... (janmastami special)

             Once again it has come. The most cherished and relished celebration in devotee community. The atmosphere is filled up with enthusiasm of devotees, emotions are unparalleled , devotion is unequaled. The anticipation is increasing, the patience is getting intolerable. What a good fortune, the supreme personality of Godhead, svayam bhagavan, lord shree Krishna, who is the origin of everything, the proprietor of everything, the by default enjoyer of everything that is manifest and also of the unmanifest. He is the absolute truth, no truth exist beyond him, or without him. He, who is the original personality of Godhead, is the origin of all incarnations , plenary portions or portions of the plenary portions of the Lord. Mahavishnu or Vishnu, who is a expansion of balaram, who is the initial expansion of Krishna, when inhales there is devastation, and when exhales, all living entities come into existence again, from his pores beneath the hair, numerous universes, coming into existence each moment,. He who is the creator of Brahma,the creator of this material world, shiva, the destroyer and other demigods engaged in different service, is Krishna. His external energy, mahamaya, in the form of Durga, or Kali, is in charge of maintaining the world, and illusioning the atheists, who don’t want to surrender to Krishna. And his internal potency, yogmaya, is providing a situation in spiritual world, so that its only love, only love, out of simplicity and innocency, that prevails in the spiritual world. And the same lord, once in a life of Brahma, decides to come down to this material world, that to in the form a newborn child. Actually Krishna is unborn, there was never a time , when Krishna didn’t exist,. But still he takes birth. Because Krishna is RASARAJ, he takes pleasure in exchange of emotion through devotion. He is not a kind of God , who takes pleasure in displaying his godhood. The only purpose for his coming, is to fulfil the desire of his devotees. As a friend, as a son, as servant, as a conjugal lover. And in this process, attracting the conditioned living entity, who are suffering in the whirlpool of material existence, to come back to him, to live a life of eternity and bliss.

              Lets all together, on his birthday, pray today , to guide all of us. Lets make our heart free from lust, greed, anger, envy, pride to accommodate Krishna inside. Lets pray for the unfortunate souls, who are bereft of Krishna’s mercy, they develop some attraction, pave their path towards godhead. In this age of kali, Krishna has come in the form his holy name, where he has invested, all his energy. One who constantly, and sincerely, and attentively chant his name with devotion, can access Krishna full , in due course of time. 
Lets chant loudly,
‘ HARE KRSNA HARE KRSNA KRSNA KRSNA HARE HARE
HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE’
And welcome Krishna to this world, and to our heart..

NEVER FORGET KRISHNA.. ALWAYS REMEMBER KRISHNA..

Hey Krishna, please shield me from the cruel witch  company of lusty desires. Please help me get rid of anger, envy, madness, cruelty, pride, greed, falsehood, and all other vices. I would rather die of starvation than associate with materialistic persons. Even to get the best thing I shall not for a moment approach materially minded people. Even if everything collapses I shall not, even within my mind, leave the shelter of the holy name. What else will give protection to this weak and fallen person?

Please protect me from the fear of forgetting holy name Sri Krishna. I am very fallen and weak, please kindly protect me from all dangers. I don’t need anything except the remembrance  of the divine couple “Radha-Krsna”..

KRISHNA CONSCIOUSNESS, THE SAVIOR OF MANKIND…

MIND, BE MINDFUL...

Be mindful that work done for the external material body is degrading,

Be mindful  that extravagant n overweening praise is a series of empty words only,

Be cognizant  that material wealth is a great calamity,

Be cognizant  that the body of opposite sex is a demoness,

aware that the material body is a useless burden, absolute source of suffering

aware that the company of materialistic men is more dangerous than a poisonous snake because a snake kills only once..and

aware that even though everyone may consider you a great personality you are actually the most lowly and fallen, become free from material possessiveness,

whatever you are, whoever you are,.. the end is a handful of ash,..

So please please please chant the name of KRISHNA...

REAL INDEPENDENCE IN REALITY COMES BY OUR COMPLETE DEPENDENCE (independence day special) (BG 7.14)

                All the cities, towns, villages, and wherever possible, today is a big day for Indians, its our independence day. The much awaited day every year. It marks the end of a century old suffering, humiliation, exploitation, by a foreign invader. This is a day of renovation, a day of reestablishment of our pride and honor. The day when the prejudice ended and justice started. The day which has invoked a true sense of individuality, and a real sense of existence, among all of us. The three colored flag flying gracefully, elegantly, with poise marks an emblem of our independence.

                Or our apparent independence. No, I am not mistyping words. Actually our independence is apparent. Although we have got independence from our external enemies, but the real enemy lies within us. And they are lust, greed, anger, envy, pride, and illusion.. until or unless, we are free from these enemies, in a true sense we are never independent.                           

              The problems will prevail, or it may proliferate, which we can see growing. In this context,  an anecdote is worth mentioning, long ago Alexander, the great , when he was on his world wide desecrating campaign, he came across a sadhu in india. He wanted to meet the sadhu, so he called the sadhu to come out of his cottage. But the sadhu denied. So, Alexander became so angry, and he angrily enquired about this weird behavior of the sadhu. And the sadhus reply was even more bewildering, he told ‘you are slave of my slave’. Now, Alexander who was the emperor of the whole world, couldn’t bear it, he was about to kill the sadhu, but wanted to know, why he said like that, the sadhu replied,’I have made anger my slave, and you are slave to your anger’. Alexander could understand now, the great message that he got.

 The story may seem very fascinating , but that is the condition of all of us. We are slaves to our own senses and mind. In other words we are dependent, and miserably so. So, to relish real independence , we got to be free of the six dangerous enimies, within. Otherwise we can celebrate the day year after year, but only to see, corruption, injustice, prejudice, exploitation, abuse, slavery, escalating in a geometric progression, God forbids it does nt happen.. But unless we are serious about extruding these enemies, these problems will inevitably crop on our society. So, Krishna, pointing it out in

BHAGAVAD GITA 7.14, 
‘THIS DIVINE ENERGY OF MINE, CONSISTING OF THE THREE MODES OF MATERIAL NATURE,
IS DIFFICULT TO OVERCOME. BUT THOSE WHO HAVE SURRENDERED UNTO ME CAN EASILY CROSS BEYOND IT.”
So, he is giving the solution also. We, the people, are always under the modes of material nature, and the product of material nature are the the six enemies, which we are always subordinate to. But Krishna here is assuring that, it is very easy to overcome, by simply surrendering to him. In other words by declaring our complete dependence on the supreme absolute, and thereby freeing ourselves from the illusory forces of mind and senses. We can become really independent in a true sense. And the method that is prescribed here in, by chanting the names of God, 
With chanting the mantra we can declare our dependence on God.. and therby become supremely independent. And the mantra in which krsna has invested all his energy, is all purifying, immediately, it cleanses our heart from the enemies..

Lets cultivate the message of bhagavad gita, lets chant krsnas name, lets become free from the bound state, that we are in, life after life,.. this is the essence of celebrating independence day.. thank you…

DEVOTION MAYN'T PROMISE A SAFE ROAD, BUT DEFINITELY ENSURE A SMOOTH RIDE...

             Its always difficult to walk on a path, which is full of turbulence and obstacles.. but if we are riding on some convenience, then the difficulties can be reduced by substantial amount..

The spiritual seeker always has this ambiguity in his mind.. Is aproaching the way of devotion will entail me a safe path in the journey of life. Well, that is not true always.. The nature of this material world is that at every step there is danger, as pages of srimad bhagavatam confirms, and as our experience affirms.

          Factually, the four real problem of life, as stated are, birth, old age, disease and death.. Alongside we are constantly being tormented by three fold miseries of life, namely adidaivika klesa( miseries due to natural disaster) , adibhautika klesa(miseries due to other living entity), and adhyatmika klesa( miseries due to ones own mind and body).

        Although we get suffering due to our past karma, but these endurance also serve as a reminder, that this material world is not a place to stay on, but a platform for cross over, from material world to spiritual world. it works as a bridge of connection.. A bridge is by nature frivolous, fragile,. That does not make the bridge incompetent, but reminds us to be competent enough to cross it quickly..

       The materialist mistakes the bridge to be permanent and lasting, and try to always make all necessary arrangements for permanent residence, only to be swept away by the inevitable progress of time. But a spiritualist takes the bridge as a mode of cross over, although while on bridge he undergo the same suffering as the materialist, but he is in full knowledge, about the destination, which lies at the end of the bridge, which he has to reach.. so, he doesn’t waste time in making a home in the bridge, rather he uses the bridge, as a tool, for getting to the real home..

       So, krsna’s instruction to Arjuna, in bhagavad gita 2.14, is a reality check for all of us, whereby he states,

‘THE NONPERMANENT APPEARANCE OF HAPPINESS AND DISTRESS, AND
THEIR DISAPPEARANCE IN DUE COURSE, ARE LIKE THE APPEARANCE AND DISAPPEARANCE OF WINTER AND SUMMER SEASONS. THEY ARISE FROM SENSE PERCEPTION,O SON OF
BHARATA, AND ONE MUST LEARN TO TOLERATE THEM WITHOUT BEING DISTURBED’.

        So, a devotee or spiritualist shouldn’t get unnecessarily disturbed by such a troubled path, for one should know,them to be temporary. And always try to fix his mind, in the ultimate goal of life, to go back to Godhead, the region of deathlessness. 
The path may be full of hurdles, but if one is on a helicopter, above the same path. He will sail over the same path amidst no difficulties. Similarly, when we take shelter of the lotus feet of the supremely lovable, krsna, then we can cross the so called hurdled path, swiftly and smoothly. And the only method prescribed for the age of kali, to take absolute shelter of Krishna, is the congregational chanting of the holy name.

My body may be decorated with beautiful garments and ornaments, or it may burn with terrible disease. I may be praised, or defamed with millions of words. I may become the master of all wealth, or I may be reduced to abject poverty. I may be free from all suffering, or I may be a living corpse.

Whatever my condition is, I shall always take shelter of the supremely lovable lord SRI KRISHNA., for only he proclaims in Bhagavad Gita 5.29,

he is the only n only benefactor and well wisher of every living entities, in all d circumstances n his luv is unmotivated, uninterrupted n unconditional.. n independent of our luv towards him...

MIRAGE AND OASIS...

Today or tomorrow this worthless material body will leave me and all the material happiness connected with it will also leave. Because material happiness is temporary, it should be understood to be only a mirage of the real happiness. O my mind, please abandon this false happiness and enjoy the real oasis of eternal happiness of devotional service at the lotus feet of KRSHNA . 
And the best service recommended in the age of kali is to chant the holy name and dance in ecstacy.

When u close ur eyes at death, where wil b ur luvin wife, children, sisters , relatives, n friend be?
Where will ur good qualities be??
Where will ur fame be??
Where will ur pride , wealth, education, control over others, n other power n opulences be??
